Join me on Zoom Wednesday evenings beginning May 6 for a test knit of my new hat design. The pattern is a stranded knit hat in DK weight yarn, sized to fit an average adult’s head.
I used Winterburn DK, which is a wooly non-superwash yarn. I definitely recommend a sticky yarn due to the long floats.
You will need:
- approximately 115 yards of the main color and 95 yards of contrast color.
- Additional materials: scrap yarn for provisional cast on,
- US size 5 (3.75mm) needles (or size to obtain gauge of 22 sts = 4″ in stranded knitting) and one size smaller: 16″ circular in both sizes and one set of DPNs in the larger size.
- Crochet hook, size US F (3.75mm) for provisional cast on, stitch markers, darning needle, scissors.
Support for the following techniques will be provided during our meetings as well as on YouTube: provisional cast on, removing the provisional cast on / knitted hem, managing long floats in stranded knitting.
Kits are available through The Local Yarn Store website. Participants will receive 10% off kits for this KAL.
